Calendar of Future Events

I hope you can find the time to view my work in person. My only public event this year will be the Bluff Country Studio Art Tour. I have decided to take a sabbactical from public art this year. I hope that this will aid my desire to improve while giving me the freedom to explore more new options artistically.
April & May 2011

April 29 – May1: Bluff Country Studio Art Tour 2011. I'll be sharing my studio space with stained glass artist, Jack Honeywell and ceramic sculptor, Scott Keith. We will be at the Wiscoy Valley Community Center which is 31783 Bur Oak Lane, Winona, MN. You can find us on the Studio Tour's map. Maps are available through Historic Bluff Country in Harmony, MN or you can see it on line at www.bluffcountrystudioarttour.com and even download the map from the web site. We're looking forward to seeing you. I will not be there on Friday but will be there Saturday and Sunday.
the Rest of the Year

I am currently working on drawing unusual portraits in pastel and colored pencils as well trying to capture the essence of summer trapped in a basket of hot peppers with colored pencils. I have also been working on various techniques in watercolor that enhance my feelings about the subject matter. Texture and how the pigment mixes with water on the paper are driving me to experiment.

I thought it might be fun to bring in collage elements; miniature sculptures, found objects and natural materials. Maybe I'll get to writing and illustrationg the books I have in mind. Maybe I'll find the time to develop my card line and my ideas for sceensavers. Wish me luck.
